Christ Lutheran Church of Augusta, Missouri, is a member of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS).  We confess that Jesus Christ, true God and true Man, who died for all sinners as the Scriptures teach, is truly living and is present among us in His Word and Sacraments to bless us with forgiveness, life and salvation.  Therefore, we are committed to the faithful preaching of His Word and the right and proper use of His Holy Sacraments.  For further study in the Lutheran Confessions, Project Wittenberg is an excellent source of Lutheran writings and theology.

In 1859, Lutheran immigrants from Germany began to establish Christ Lutheran Congregation.  A constitution was adopted in 1860 and in 1864 the congregation joined the Evangelical Lutheran Synod of Missouri, Ohio, and Other States, which is now known as the LCMS.  The present church building was erected in 1872.  Renovations have been made through the years providing handicap accessibility, air conditioning, and an educational wing.

Our Pastor is Rev. Randall Bell, a 1986 graduate of Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana.  He served congregations in Nebraska, Indiana, and Iowa, prior to coming to Augusta in 2001.  He can be contacted by e-mail at arbi@centurytel.net.

We are located at Church Road and Hwy. 94 in Augusta, Missouri.  From St. Louis, take Hwy 40 West to 94 West.  The church is 17 miles after you exit onto Hwy 94.  From Warrenton, take Hwy 47 South to Hwy 94 East.

Holy Communion is offered on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Sundays of each month.  The congregations that make up the LCMS practice “closed communion.”  This term means that only baptized and instructed Christians, who are in complete agreement with one another, concerning the teachings of Holy Scripture, commune with one another.  In practicing closed communion, we are not entering into a judgment concerning the faith of individual members of other churches.  We rejoice over all those who have saving faith in Jesus Christ.  Fellowship at this altar is not established by faith in the heart, but by sharing in a common confession of faith, anchored in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  We sincerely want all people to receive the Lord’s Body and Blood with us, but we want them to receive this potent gift in accord with the words of our Lord.  As a steward of God’s mysteries, our pastor stands ready to assist you in preparing to come to the Lord’s Supper with us by teaching you His Word.  Classes are offered, as needed, throughout the year.  For further study, click here.
